Adriana Lima NYE Look
New Year’s Eve is the absolute best time to pump up the glam. A fun smokey eye, a bold lipstick, and maybe even some sparkle. I arrived to Ms. Adriana Lima’s house late afternoon to start on her makeup. Adriana had showed me her gorgeous short, white dress for her White party before we began. In Brazilian culture, all are expected to wear white attire to welcome in the New Year. It is believed to attract peace and happiness. Such a wonderful tradition.
We proceeded to discuss what “makeup look” she wanted to achieve, prior to me prepping her face. Adriana definitely wanted a bold red lip, and beautiful, highlighted, dewy skin. She left the rest up to me. I personally love a classic, drop dead gorgeous, Hollywood Glam look. Flawless and radiant skin and a subtle, yet shimmering defined eye is a must.

Prep:
Adriana first applied her Charlotte Tibury Magic Cream (not pictured), that she applies before all makeup applications. I then primed her with Hourglass Veil Primer, a dab of Glossier’s Rose Balm, and blended it in with my beauty blender that was sprayed with Smashbox’s Photo Finish primer water.

Hourglass: Veil Primer (oil free and non greasy)
Smashbox: Photo Finish Primer Water
Eyes & Brows:
After prepping Adriana’s (already gorgeous & flawless) face, I started with her eyes. I used the “Tartelette in bloom” pallet. I buffed the shade “flower child” all over her lid and used “smarty pants” to blend around her crease for a light, sculpted definition. I delicately blended “rebel” and “leader” starting in her outter corners, into her crease. I dabbed the “funny girl” shade onto the center of her lid for a hint of sparkle. I used the Becca Opal Powder to dab a tiny amount in Adriana’s inner corner. This highlighted her blue eyes.
I used Smashbox’s 3D Billionaire pencil to softly smudge around her eyes. I love the way this hint of green looked on Adriana, really making those baby blue’s POP.
Using Diorshow Mascara and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow pallet, I defined her brows effortfully, effortless. Only a few strokes of product needed, since she naturally has good shaped brows and lashes.
Tarte: Tartelette in bloom pallet
Smashbox: 3D Billionaire pencil
Dior: Diorshow Mascara
Anastasia Beverly Hills: Beauty Express Brow pallet
Face:
After Adriana’s eyes, I then move onto her base. I like to do the eyes first, in case of any eyeshadow fall out, I can simply wipe the excess product away with a make up remover wipe. I begin by buffing on a thin layer of It Cosmetics CC Cream. Adriana has really good, hydrated skin. Her skin is balanced and even toned. I like using the CC cream because it is very light and breathable, but also build-able if needed for more coverage. In this case, one layer was enough.
I used Nars concealer under Adriana’s eyes and just a touch on her cheekbones to softly highlight her bone structure.
Face Step 2:
I love the Kevyn Aucoin sculpt (shade medium). I used this which when blended correctly, gives the perfect sculpt and contour. I lightly blended this under Adriana’s cheekbones and slightly brought it up onto her temples, jawline and neck. I used Nars Orgasm blush, using soft and gentle strokes on her cheeks for a natural, rosy flush color. For a highlight, I used a sample of a Becca Powder in Opal. I applied this to the high points of Adriana’s face, the inner corner of her eyes and right above the center of her lip line. I made sure to buff everything well using my beauty blender still sprayed with the primer water, to make sure her face stayed dewy and glow-y.

Nars: Orgasm Blush
Becca: highlight in Opal
Face Set:
I love Makeup Forever’s Mist and Fix Spray. I spritzed a few sprays onto Adriana’s almost finished face, then went in using Laura Mercier setting powder. I gently powdered her forehead, chin and sides of nose. Unlike some artists, I don’t like to powder the entire face because I like the skin to look radiant and fresh. Especially for this look we were creating.

Lips:
When it comes to red lips, there is nothing I don’t love. Although, you need to find the right shade and texture for your skin tone, I believe everyone can look glamorous in red lipstick. Red lips will take time and patience. Adriana already has naturally beautiful, full lips. I first applied the Betty Boo lip color from my own line, Muah By Alexandria, to the center of her lips. I then took a brush and softly dragged the lipstick out to her natural lip line. I then went back to my concealer brush, and gently went around her lips to sharpen the edge just a tad bit. You can’t go wrong with a killer red lip.

As for hair, all products used was Oribe. Fantastic Miami based hairstylist Adrian Cuervo, was responsible for Adriana’s gorgeous NYE locks (as well as mine! Thanks Adrian!) Oribe products are truly the best and this is my first choice with my hair clients.
