There is nothing more delightful than hosting a small, elegant afternoon tea party with Sweet Emelyne and Hair Honey. I recently had the girls over at Villa Gilleo (Lisa Vanderpump has a name for her house, as do I) and we indulged in dainty foods including tea sandwiches, salads, cheese spreads, dips, macarons, Champagne Rosé,(Thank you Moët) & of course Harney & Son’s fine tea.

Emelyne brought me vintage tea cup as a hostess gift. I adore teacups, I am always on the look out for beautiful cups and saucers especially at vintage shops. Thank you Emelyne!

After indulging in tea and macarons, and sharing great stories and laughs, we wanted to give Em a “modern day vintage hair and makeup look.” So, we popped champagne and talked about which vintage makeup/hair looks we wanted to create. I wanted to use more neutrals on Emelyne, rather than your typical vintage red lip and winged liner look.

First, I prepped Emelyne with Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing moisturizer. I began with Em’s eyes. I like to do the eyes first, so if there is any fallout of the eyeshadow product, I can simply wipe it away. I used the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette for her eyes. I used neutrals and browns to create a light smokey eye. Remember, smokey eyes don’t always have to be dark. The key is to use a flat brush to deposit the color, and a fluffy shadow brush to blend, blend, blend. I created a thin line on her upper lash line to define her eyes. I used a nude liner from Becca cosmetics to line the inside of her eyes to make her eyes appear bigger. Then I used the eyeshadow brush under her bottom lash line to smoke out her under eye very softly.

We used Ardell Whispy Lashes, which are my favorite. I curled her lashes after the lashes dried to blend her lashes with the falsies and widen her eyes. We used Dior Iconic mascara.

For her face I wet a beauty blender and used It Cosmetics CC cream in light. This is one of my favorite products right now. I used Nars creamy concealer for her under eye. A tiny bit of product goes a long way! I used a blush from Philosophy (one of my favorite lines as well- Have you tried their SKIN TINTS? AMAZING!)

For Emelyne’s contour I lightly blended a color from the Kat Von Dee Contour palette onto her cheekbones and sides of nose. I applied the contour where the sun would naturally hit your face. I then used Cleopatra from my own personal makeup line to highlight above her cheekbones, under her brow bone, a touch on the tip of her nose, and above her lips. This brightens her face and gives her skin a nice glow.

For her brow’s I used Smashbox with has an angled pencil and a gel on the other end of the stick. I really like this product.

For Em’s lips, I lined them using the lipliner Silk from my makeup line MUAH and used a gloss also from my line MUAH called Embrace. This color went great with the look we created for Em. A similar shade that is a favorite of mine is Lover’s Lane. To purchase these products, click Here.: http://muahbyalexandria.com/shop/
